Description
This conversion will transfer the hub from 2 separate roller taper bearings to a 1 piece integrated bearing.
There has been alot of bearing failures over the past few years on all the MK3/4 escort range and it is affecting normal road cars,higher powered road cars along with track/race cars
Track orientated cars can have a failure within 2 race meetings .
We have been using this mod on track orientated cars so far to make sure they conversion is adequate.
This conversion will suit all mk3 escort,mk4 escort,escort rs turbo and escort rs1600i
There are a few issues that cause the failure with the wheel bearings on the original set up and it doesnt help using larger wheels with more force on the bearings
We will not be offering a warranty on this conversion as we have to rely on 40 year old hubs,the only part that we will guarantee will be the machining
We will be offering this conversion as either us machining your hubs or on an exchange with a pair of hubs we have here.
For us to machine your hubs there will be a lead time based on our current workload at the time as we need everything inside the machine clean before we machine them as it is a dirty process for machining.
We machine the hub to suit the new bearings that are a press fit and secured using a circlip at the back
These will come back to you with the bearing and seals fitted so you only have to bolt them back on
We will expect everyone to use new wheel hubs for when they use this conversion
Either we can supply these or you could source your own ones
The ultimate will be billet hubs but this will not suit the majority,these are coming later in the year
We are using this conversion on our own track car
They will be a £50 surcharge that is refundable upon us receiving back your existing hubs
